Our whole approach starts with infants. We keep them safe, healthy, and secure. Unlike many facilities, we do not mix infants in classes with older children. The Center has been open in Hainesport since December 2012, with a change in ownership in April 2022. We also offer overnight and weekend care.
Rooms stay small on purpose. Infants up to 17 months are grouped at a 1:4 ratio; toddlers from 18 months to 2 1/2 years at 1:6. We follow the Creative Curriculum through Grow New Jersey Kids. Teachers sit on the floor with children, and every child's health and emotional growth stays our primary concern.
We are a Licensed Child Care program, certified by the Infant and Toddler Network and licensed by the State of New Jersey. We work in collaboration with Grow New Jersey Kids and the Creative Curriculum. Our staff are CPR and First Aid trained, and the owner and director holds a Master's degree. Small student-to-staff ratios are part of how we operate, not an extra.
What you notice in practice
Teachers work at the child's level, kneeling or sitting on the floor so faces meet. They follow what the child is interested in rather than steering the play. In a small group, a teacher can hold one baby and still see the whole room. Our Early Learning Programs use High Quality Learning and Play to Learn, so the day is built on play that teaches.
Infant rooms are separate from older classrooms, so babies are not mixed in with bigger children. Materials sit within reach, and teachers follow each child's own rhythm for feeding, resting, and play rather than a fixed schedule. Our philosophy centers on security, safety, health, and well-being.
How we work with families
At pickup, a teacher tells you how your child ate, slept, and played, and what caught their attention that day. Parents are encouraged to partner with our staff to build strong relationships with their child and to practice good communication skills at home. If you have a question in the morning, ask it then. You do not have to wait for a conference to raise something small.
New children settle in at their own pace, and we ask you to tell us your child's routines, comfort items, and signals before the first day. Parents partner with our staff, so what works at home can carry into the room. Some children jump in on day one; others watch from a teacher's lap for a week. We follow the child. Ask us how we handle those first weeks.
