Plan a visitLittle Steps cares for infants from two weeks to two and a half years. Our philosophy centers on security, safety, health, and well-being. Unlike many facilities, we do not mix infants in classes with older children. That means the room stays calm and the day stays predictable for your baby.
Teachers follow each child's own rhythm for feeding, napping, and playing. With a 1:4 ratio for infants up to 17 months and 1:6 from 18 months to 2½ years, there is time to sit close, talk, and respond. We are certified by the Infant and Toddler Network and work with the Creative Curriculum.
Full-time and part-time infant and toddler schedules are available. The center has been in Hainesport since December 2012. Please ask about current openings, tuition, and what to pack for your first day.
Children move through outdoor play, nap time, skill-building across a range of activities, and chances to follow their own interests. In a licensed infant room, the day follows the babies rather than a clock. There are feedings, diaper changes, naps and stretches of floor time, with teachers close by. You will see adults talking to babies, holding them, and answering sounds and faces. Outdoor play and nap time are part of the rhythm.
The practical payoff shows up at home. A baby who is used to being answered learns that people respond. A baby who spends the day with the same few caregivers settles faster and rests better. Over months, those small exchanges turn into the basics of positive interaction, which is what pre-school and kindergarten build on.
